Nearly everyone facing chronic illness or cancer can use extra support at times to navigate the challenges. Seeing this to be so, I have been inspired to devote my practice of psychotherapy to providing that support in a compassionate manner to adults throughout Indiana. Sadly, illness often brings up fears of being a burden, or feelings of guilt or shame. Those with cancer sometimes struggle with a sense of loss of control and overwhelming uncertainty. With any medical condition, there may be struggle with adhering to treatment regimens, communicating to others about the illness, meeting stigma wisely, or asking for the help that is needed. And for those with invisible illness, just getting an appropriate diagnosis can be a long journey with moments of feeling misunderstood or gaslighted. Through psychotherapy, new insights often arise about how to meet all this with greater wisdom and ease.

I specialize in supporting adults living with illness such as cancer, Long COVID, epilepsy, fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, lupus, functional neurological disorder (conversion disorder), epilepsy (both neurologic and psychogenic). I provide evidence-based treatments that match the preferences of the patient.

My primary approach is a type of CBT called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is mindfulness-based. I also offer biweekly groups for Living with Long Covid and Women Living with Invisible Illness. These groups provide community with others who "get it.”We emphasize pacing, addressing stigma, mindfulness, and self-compassion.
